x Frans Masereel Centrum DE-AD, Wim Cuyvers Book Launch & Talk
29.05.2022
Frans Masereel Centrum, in collaboration with BOOOOOKS, invites you for a toast to the brand new publication 'DE-AD' (2022) by Wim Cuyvers on Sunday, May 29th.
During the presentation and artist talk at BOOOOOKS, architect-artist-writer-forester Wim Cuyvers will discuss all the publications he has made and contributed to until now, focusing on the substantive aspects, as well as the formal and (sometimes hidden) structural choices of his work. He will also look ahead to the upcoming publication 'Montavoies', which, like 'L'Autre' and 'DE-AD', will be published by the Frans Masereel Centrum.
'DE-AD' can be seen as the sequel to the successful book 'Text over Text' from 2005. This time, however, Cuyvers not only bundles essays but also drawings of architectural projects that were never executed. In this way, Cuyvers gives an overview of the spaces he has searched and searches for, abstracting and naming the elements that characterise those spaces, while, on the other hand, making explicit his worldview.
