BOOOOOKS is a bookshop and presentation space in Antwerp showcasing the practice of publishing. Alongside an occasional programme of exhibitions, events and launches, we stock an organically growing selection of works from independent publishers, artists and designers. The practices and works presented adopt formats at the crossroads of art, design, books, editions, magazines, multiples, novels, essays, postcards, posters...

The guiding principle is the book: as a material object resulting from reflections on both content and form; as an idea and symbol of the human necessity to tell stories. We’re interested in those hidden pockets of art that can spark a bit of joy. Books that can amuse or inform, challenge or intrigue, delight or provoke. They are more than books about art. They are a way to experience it.

Our first space, at Sint-Vincentiusstraat 24, presented a year-long programme, in which each season, a leading independent publisher working in the contemporary cultural field was invited to present a cross-section of their work. Its interior design consisted of a support/display structure by architect Piet Crevits and furniture by artist Perry Roberts.

At our new location in Florastraat 31, located at the front of the design studio of Watson Memić, we continue to invite one publishing practice at a time and, in parallel, present a cumulative, year-long exhibition of works by artist Aaron Harris throughout 2025. The bookshop is designed by Watson Memić.
